The menu at Shawarma Van Dyke reads like a love letter to Mediterranean culinary heritage. From the moment your meal begins with freshly baked pita paired with creamy hommous or the iconic garlic dip (toum), you know you’re in for a memorable experience. Among the standouts is the Fattoush Tawook, where juicy, marinated chicken pairs perfectly with a crisp, refreshing salad. The Shish Combo for 2 offers a generous sampler of flame-grilled meats that boast smoky char and tender, juicy textures. For those who appreciate the depth of Middle Eastern flavors, the Lentil Soup and Beef Gallaba — sautéed with vegetables and house-made tomato sauce — create a comforting harmony of tastes and aromas.
Seafood lovers find delight in the Mediterranean Salmon, a beautifully grilled filet topped with a medley of sautéed vegetables that burst with herbaceous freshness. Or try the succulent Lamb Chops, perfectly seasoned and grilled to juicy perfection, capturing that balance of smoky and bold with each bite. Vegetarians will appreciate options like the Veggie Plate and vibrant side dishes such as Tabouli and Eggplant Bite with Feta Cheese, demonstrating the restaurant’s commitment to satisfying all palates.
Portions are generous and thoughtfully crafted. Whether dining in or taking out, guests are treated to impeccably presented meals that maintain their flavor and integrity. True to Middle Eastern hospitality, the service is friendly and attentive — an aspect frequently celebrated by guests who rave about the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the extra touches like gladly providing extra garlic sauce and bread without hesitation.
Diners consistently praise Shawarma Van Dyke’s ability to merge quality with value. Longtime customers and newcomers alike notice the freshness of ingredients and the authentic house-made sauces, setting this spot apart from typical kabob joints. Lamb enthusiasts, in particular, will find themselves returning for the expertly prepared lamb sautéed with garlic and lemon, a signature that delights both the eyes and the palate.
To round out the meal, don’t miss a bite of their Baklava, a sweet and flaky pastry that offers a perfect ending with its nutty richness and subtle honey glaze. Whether you’re indulging in a hearty Chicken Shawarma Bowl or sharing the Beef Shawarma Bowl piled high with fresh vegetables, pickled delights, and creamy hommous, every dish tells a story of tradition, care, and bold Mediterranean flavors.

The new owners serve phenomenal food! If you haven't been lately, it's totally worth a try. Seriously, it was even better than when this was Cedar years ago. The menu is extensive and includes lamb options. The lamb sauteed plate was excellent with lemon and garlic, and the chicken tawook was moist and well grilled. Dinners come with pita and toum (garlic dip), and choice of soup or salad in addition to the choice of rice/fries/grilled veggies listed on the menu. The lentil soup is pureed and delicious, and the fattoush was fresh and well-seasoned. Gluten-sensitive folks, the rice has vermicelli, but I was able to eat the fries, which were hot and crispy. My family will definitely be back!
My all time favorite place. Amazing hospitality, so friendly. Food is absolutely incredible. I asked for extra garlic and bread and boyyyy did they deliver! And didn’t even charge me extra! Check this place out!!!
Absolutely delicious! We shared the lamb grape leaves appetizer, the Shish Tawook entree, and Greek salad. Each dish was perfectly prepared and garnished, and packaged very well (we had take out), with generous portions. There are many other dishes we are looking forward to trying! Additionally, the service was very friendly and efficient.
The food was not only outstanding and delicious but it also looked amazing! The service was amazing and we extremely enjoyed our food. Will definitely be back again!!
I’ve seen this place change hands a few times and this time it truly appears to be for the best. Previous owners went overboard with the cost cutting and it showed in the final product. But the new (current) owners have turned it around. The food actually tastes nice and fresh, yet they are able to maintain a reasonable price. It’s nothing extraordinary; just your typical kabob restaurant, but atleast it’s good, honest food. They’re not jazzing up your plate and charging you double or triple the price. I’ll continue to be a customer as long as it stays that way. P.S. I appreciate you giving me a small pot of garlic whenever I ask. Your customer service is noticed and goes a long way.
Stopped by for dinner, excellent visit! Under new management. Food and service were great. Owners son was my server, very personable guy. Food looked like a work of art and tasted great. Even the bread served at the start with the garlic spread was the best I've ever tasted. I will return.
One of the best places I’ve ever tasted at. Their food is extremely delicious and the people who work there were super sweet. After tasting the great food I just had to take some to go! I recommend 100%
